Richmond CC 2024

Quite the Day at Richmond G.C. last Thursday for the hardy souls who don't know any better and stood out in the cold rain to whack the little ball around. Thanks to our host Mark Rice who joined L & J soon after the event. Welcome, Mark!

We teed off in the cold, wind, and rain with hopes for it to taper off and stop by 10:30 or 11:00. It would eventually stop, but not before it kicked up a notch, paused, hailed briefly, then followed with another squall about 20 minutes before we finished our round right as we were teeing off on the last hole of the shotgun.

We added a fun little contest, because trying to stay dry, warm, and loose wasn’t enough. So thanks to a generous donation from our member Sancha Bhukkarat of several dozen yellow balls, we had a yellow ball contest. Each group got a Yellow Ball to rotate through the group for one player to play it each hole. The team score for the Yellow ball was added up and we had a tie among the two player group of Steve Roscow and Richard Myers and the foursome of Mark Rice, Kevin Coleman, Tim Ambrose and Jeff Cobb. Each group shot a 95 with their Yellow ball and each player of both groups received a dozen of the Sancha donated Yellow balls!
