Sequoyah Country Club

Twenty-four Lawyers & Judges Golf Association Golfers did their best to attack Sequoyah Country Club last Thursday.  Thanks to Lawyers & Judges longtime member, Dave Marshall, and our Sequoyah host former L&J member Dave Almeling, for hosting us!

We were lucky our tournament fell between rainy days.  However, since the course had absorbed a lot of rain the previous day, and after consultation with the Pro, the tournament committee decided to play lift clean and place through the green.  The course though had drained very well and was in great shape, so while lift, clean place may not have been strictly necessary, I for one didn’t complain.

The greens were their usual difficult selves.  The words of the day, as always at Sequoyah, were “keep the approach below the hole.”  It wasn’t always possible.

We had a few good scores out there.  Third place Low Gross went to John Dwyer for his 84.  Third place Low Net went to Martin Diaz, they both won a $25 gift card to Golf Mart.  Second place prizes of $40 will go to Dave Almeling for his Gross 83 and to Tim Ambrose for his Net 72.  First place prize of a $50 Golf Mart gift card will go to Jose Espinosa for his stellar 78.  Jason Flores had the second best score, an 82, and his net 70 took First Low Net (Espinoza tied low net, but he can only win one, Low Gross takes precedent.)  Gift card prizes will be emailed to all winners.

We hope everyone had a good time and we look forward to a fun round at Silverado on April 8.  At this time we have a full field of 36, but the waitlist is open to fill cancellations.  You can get on the waitlist HERE.
