Contra Costa CC 2024

We had a strong field at Contra Costa Country Club for our season closing tournament, the Jimmy Naylor/Bruce Cornelius Memorial Tournament, where the low net winner claims the Naylor/Cornelius perpetual trophy. The winds were blowing quite strongly until after we finished our round and they laid down to reveal a beautiful evening. By then we were inside for our sit-down dinner.

Thanks go out to our host, Club Treasurer Peter Mankin for hosting from afar, as he is in Washington cooing over his new granddaughter. Congratulations Peter!

With his score of 79, Mat Yamagata took the low gross and the 200 Bridgett Player of the Year points that accompany it, thereby coming from behind to edge Match Play Champion, Kevin Coleman 510 to 500 points to once again take home the Player of Year trophy.

Mat’s playing partner Eric Ingraham took home the Naylor/Cornelius perpetual Trophy with the low net score of 71.

Best day of the tournament has to go to Terry Szucsko who won 3 of the 5 Closest to the Pins and took 2nd place low net. Great day Terry!
